Work Backwards

Ok, I know this sounds completely counter intuitive, however this is how I have found success. I found my product and worked my whole campaign backwards from that. When you get into this industry your first taught to find your NICHE. I do not subscribe to that method as it might not make you as much income as you need. Is it harder to do it this way? I personally feel this is the best way to do it. You have the product in mind and you know what you will be getting as far as commissions. Now I do not place as much emphasis in ALL the areas as I do some others. The reason, well because I know where my commissions come from and that is PEOPLE like you and I. So my main focus is going to lay in the audience department. So let’s get the small stuff out of the way. Ready, set, GOOOO!

So what I am going to give you in this guide is my experience and how I have found that it works best.
- Pick your product. (In my case this was the affiliate program that I took to learn how to do this)
- The reason that I chose to do it this way was due to me learning and wanting to teach other’s how to do it successfully. So I started with the end in mind, commissions. I knew that if I sold things at a higher commission I would have to sell LESS, than I would if I chose to sell a lower ticket item.
- The insight to this previous bullet point is that means your NICHE is chosen for you. It is the wealth NICHE. So that is two of the things you must do to get started in one fell swoop.
- Next we are going to build our website and/or sales funnel. You will hear this tossed around frequently and if you don’t know what a sales funnel is, let me enlighten you.
- A sales funnel is a way to collect emails, to grow your email list. Which is one of your most valued assets that no one can take from you. It is one of the most essential pieces in your arsenal, so you want to eventually master the art of funnel building.
- Building your website. This term is thrown around in the marketing world, and while most of us seem to think of it as a www.com site, it can also be a sales funnel. You will need to clarify which one you want. It comes with different pricing.
- Pick your way of advertising and promotion. This is now where we are going to get a little sticky. You have to know WHAT you want to say and HOW you want to say it. But you also want to remain true to the product and yourself. So always be you, only you and authentically you. Copy and pasting is successful, but only if you show up as yourself.
- Learn your platforms. Know which platforms have which rules, know that you can lose your account at ANY time. I lost an account for posting to quickly. It can be gone in a flash so that is where that email list comes back into the fold. If a platform is taken from you, then you can email your customers and have them follow you to a new one.
- Begin understanding statistics. Know how you are going to manage those analytics of your site, and your customers. They key to this area is KNOWING who you are talking to. Knowing what pain points your audience has. To be honest, you are usually your own first customer. Talking from experience in whatever area of life you have is usually the customer you want to target. So those analytics are going to tell you if you are hitting the right place.
- Be prepared to change and adapt as your audience does. Know what needs they have and how they react to those.
Below you will find the VERY VERY basic steps to what you are trying to accomplish.

Now for my favorite part.. Ready?
As an affiliate marketer, your goal is to promote products or services to your audience in order to generate commissions. But how do you ensure that you’re promoting the right products to the right people? The answer lies in knowing your audience.
Understanding your audience is crucial for successful affiliate marketing. Here’s why:

- Targeted promotions By knowing your audience, you can promote products that are relevant and useful to them. For example, if your audience is interested in fitness and health, you can promote products such as workout equipment, supplements, or healthy snacks. By promoting products that are relevant to your audience’s interests, you’re more likely to generate clicks and conversions.
- Building trust Your audience is more likely to trust your recommendations if they feel that you understand their needs and preferences. By promoting products that are relevant and useful to them, you’re demonstrating that you have their best interests in mind. This can lead to increased trust and loyalty, which can translate into more clicks and conversions over time.
- Higher conversion rates When you promote products that are relevant and useful to your audience, you’re more likely to generate conversions. This is because your audience is more likely to be interested in products that are relevant to their needs and preferences. By focusing on targeted promotions, you can increase your conversion rates and earn more commissions.
- Improved engagement By knowing your audience, you can create content that resonates with them. This can lead to increased engagement, such as likes, shares, and comments on social media. By creating content that your audience enjoys and finds useful, you can build a loyal following and increase your reach over time.
In conclusion, knowing your audience is crucial for successful affiliate marketing. By understanding your audience’s needs, preferences, and interests, you can promote products that are relevant and useful to them, build trust and loyalty, increase conversion rates, and improve engagement. So take the time to get to know your audience and tailor your promotions accordingly – it’s a small investment that can lead to big rewards.

I know at this point you probably feel like the picture above. It is OK. I promise it all comes together and makes sense. You will put it all together, and it will work for you in the end. The key here is not to get stuck in your own way. Celebrate your victories, and successes, LEARN from failure. “Success is not final, Failure is not Fatal. It is the courage to keep going that counts,” That was said by Winston Churchill and he is right. So keep that in mind on your affiliate marketing journey.
